Parochial Schools 

1. Aug. 27, 2025 Annunciation Catholic School Minneapolis, MN Shooting - Attacker targeted an all-school Mass held in the church; two children killed, 21 injured.

2. March 27, 2023 The Covenant School Nashville, TN Shooting - Three 9-year-old children and three staff members killed.

3. Dec. 16, 2024 Abundant Life Christian School Madison, WI Shooting - A student was identified as the suspect in a shooting incident at the school.

4. Oct. 2, 2006 West Nickel Mines Amish School Bart Township, PA Shooting - Gunman killed five young girls and injured five others before committing suicide.

5. May 10, 2000 Carmichael Elementary School (Preschool) Sierra Vista, AZ Shooting - A man killed his estranged wife, a teacher, in a preschool classroom before killing himself. The school is listed as a private elementary school.

6. Dec. 1, 2000 Junipero Serra High School San Diego, CA Shooting - A student accidentally shot himself with a handgun on campus after threatening a classmate. (Catholic High School

7. June 10, 2002 Conception Abbey (Seminary/Monastery)Conception, MO Shooting - Two monks and three employees killed by a disgruntled former student. (While not a K-12 school, it is a significant Roman Catholic academic/religious institution).

8. June 10, 2002 Conception Seminary College Conception, MO Shooting - Five people killed (two monks, three employees) by a former student in an attack on the abbey/seminary campus.

9. Feb. 12, 2010 University of Alabama in Huntsville Huntsville, AL Shooting - A biology faculty member, denied tenure, opened fire during a faculty meeting, killing three people and injuring three others.

10. Jan. 21, 2014 Purdue University West Lafayette, IN Shooting - A student shot and killed another student inside an electrical engineering building on campus. (Purdue is a land-grant university but is included here as a significant campus violence event).

11. Oct. 1, 2015 Umpqua Community College (Public)Roseburg, OR Shooting - Included for context, a shooter killed nine people and injured nine more before dying by suicide. (This is a public community college, but a major event in the period).

12. Dec. 12, 2017 New Mexico Highlands University (Public)Las Vegas, NM             Stabbing - A man stabbed three students and a staff member on the university campus. (This is included as an example of a mass stabbing event on a university campus, though public).
